Blairvadach Schools Application - August 2027 to June 2028

Blairvadach is once again taking bookings for Residential Experiences.
What does this mean for you?
· We will be allocating mid-week, weekend and holiday time slots to schools. The allocation survey linked below will allow you to decide the type of visit you would prefer. We have created a flowchart which provides additional transparency around the allocation criteria: Allocation Process Flowchart.

The rate for attending the facility will be based on the number of instructors you require for your group. The appropriate ratio will be agreed with the group leader and Blairvadach Operations after considering any specific group needs. However, for indicative guidance, Table 1 below provides the standard instructor: young person ratio we work with.

How much will it cost?
Note: these prices are indicative and will be confirmed January 2027.

Pricing Example for Glasgow City Council School:
A Primary School with 32 pupils, purchasing a 5-day residential experience would cost:
Number of Instructors Required (Max Ratio 1:8) 4 (Up to 32 YP)
Length of residential visit 5 days
Rate per instructor per day £400
Total (4 Instructors* 5 days* £400) £8000.00*
*This equates to £250 per person for all pupils.
1.Summary Booking Terms & Conditions

The allocation of instructors for your booking will determine the overall price for your visit. This price will be fixed 8 weeks prior to the first day of your visit.

Charges for the 2027/2028 allocation will be transferred from your school prior to your visit.

Head Teachers and Organisers must satisfy themselves of the suitability of the Centres’ physical environment and the extent and limitations of its programmes of activities especially for pupils with additional support needs before requesting a booking. All group supervision and trip management should be facilitated as per MC48.

Will we be the only school in residence?
Where appropriate Blairvadach OEC will have multiple schools in residence. Living and learning with new peers has proved a positive addition to the experience in the past.

We will always contact you prior to your visit to ensure the proposed programme meets your objectives.

A programme for Primary groups consists of a pre-visit portfolio to be completed prior to visit, multi activity personal and social development experience and a post visit portfolio.

A programme for secondary groups is either based on a choice of one or two activities with a focus on skills acquisition or a blended study experience. Personal and Social Development is intrinsic to all the courses.

A programme for the ASN and ASL sector is bespoke based on the needs of the individuals.
