About Our Scholarship

We’re glad you’re exploring the Power Construction Scholarship Program for college funding!

The legacy of Power is built through our actions.  We believe that bringing different perspectives together helps foster stronger outcomes and we are seeking to increase the diversity of our team.  Efforts to promote construction management awareness and engagement at the high school level have helped focus our efforts to financially support students interested in a career in construction.

If you are a female and/or minority student who is actively pursuing a career in construction, we want to be a part of your collegiate education progress and help set up your career for success! Power supports future construction leaders by offering renewable scholarships to qualified high school seniors who meet particular criteria. Applications are available between November 1, 2019 through February 1, 2020. Interviews will take place early Spring. Scholarships will be awarded late Spring.

ELIGIBILITY:
  • U.S. Citizen
  • Female and/or minority
  • Anticipated graduation from a Chicagoland area High School (Cook, DuPage, McHenry, Kane, Will, Lake or Kendall County) 
  • Intent to pursue a Bachelor's degree in: Construction Management, Construction Engineering, Civil Engineering, or other construction-related major
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher (or demonstration of continued improvement)
  • Must be enrolled for the academic year in which the scholarship is being sought

Complete applications and all requested additional documentation MUST BE RECEIVED by February 1, 2020. Incomplete or late applications will not be considered. All information submitted will be maintained in confidence and used solely for purposes of analyzing the scholarship application. All scholarships are paid directly to the school, not to the student.

  • References should indicate how they know the applicant and why the applicant should be considered for this scholarship.
  • References should be from a professional company or person, teacher, etc. but cannot be a relative or family member. (Alternate acceptable sources are: non-profit organizations, a church or community organization to which you belong, a place where you volunteer, or similar organization)
  • Letter MUST be dated and current (within past 12 months) and must include the writer’s contact information: address, phone and email address. Letters submitted without this information will be rejected.
