Queensland Writers Centre –
Adaptable 2025/26 Applications

Annual program. 2025/26 applications open: 24 November 2025 – 27 January 2026 (9 weeks)

Since 2018, Queensland Writers Centre’s Adaptable: Turning the Page to Screen program has been forging creative connections between the literary and screen communities. The program seeks material for film or television adaptation, and accepts submissions of books and manuscripts across a broad range of genres and formats, published and unpublished.

Successful applicants to the program are given the opportunity to pitch work to producers, showrunners, screenwriters and industry professionals at a Market Day event in Brisbane (May 2026).

One-on-one, online Feedback Sessions with QWC staff, to receive reader feedback on the work and discuss next steps, are available as an add-on for applicants with an unpublished manuscript.

By making an application, applicants acknowledge to have read and understood the Program Guidelines.

For assistance with your application, please contact us at able@qldwriters.org.au or call the Centre on (07) 3842 9922.

Applicants will be added to Queensland Writers Centre's Pen & Pixel email newsletter (from which you can unsubscribe at any time) for ongoing program and application updates.
