Thank you for your continued participation in planning Bear Creek State Park, a new 1,720-acre Texas State Park near Garner State Park with Frio River Access in Uvalde County. This new park represents a unique opportunity to protect native landscapes (including river and stream corridors/Riparian areas, hill country, and oak savannahs) -- while providing public access and supporting outdoor recreation for current and future generations.
The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department is advancing the Public Use Plan by building on earlier community input to refine concept approaches for the park. The materials presented here reflect those concepts and respond to the priorities identified through previous engagement. The plan focuses on creating meaningful and sustainable opportunities for visitors to experience the park while aligning with the site’s natural conditions and the long-term vision for Bear Creek State Park.
