Project Background

Lion's Park is located at 6629 Main Street and is surrounded by Highway 97 on the west side, marshland to the north, the Okanagan River to the east, and the Oliver Visitor Centre at the south end. The park and the facilities within are maintained and operated by Oliver & District Recreation. The Oliver & District Recreation Plan (2024) outlines the strategic goals that will guide recreation services and capital planning for the next decade. There is a strategic direction to upgrade parks and facilities to meet the diverse needs of residents. The 2026-2030 Capital Finance Plan includes a project to improve Lion's Park with additional amenities that promote outdoor physical activity and play.

Oliver & District Recreation staff are engaging the community to help inform the direction of capital improvements to Lion's Park (Oliver, BC) by asking residents to complete the survey below. Survey results will be collected until February 16, 2026, and will be used by staff to evaluate the feasibility and support for potential improvements to the park.

Printed surveys can be returned before February 13, 2026 to the Recreation Administration Office at 6359 Park Drive 8:30a-4:30p Monday to Friday or to Town Hall 6150 Main Street 9:00am-4:00pm Monday to Friday. We will report back the survey results and what we heard from the community during the second phase of engagement in June 2026.
