Wider Impact:

Scots Pharmacy firmly believes that the community of Netherthird, Craigens and Skerrington urgently requires our own community pharmacy to access the pharmaceutical and healthcare services we are currently deprived of.

Our community faces both economic deprivation and geographic isolation but our residents are still forced to endure unreliable, time consuming and expensive public transport in order to access our basic healthcare needs. A local pharmacy would provide the foundation of the healthcare infrastructure needed to tackle the long-standing health inequalities that residents have experienced for generations.

Extablishing a pharmacy able to provide prescribing services in Netherthird would deliver immediate, personalised care - not only dispensing medicines, but also diagnosing, treating, and advising on a wide range of conditions. It would serve as a frontline hub for public health, supporting early identification and management of health concerns, promoting healthier lifestyles, and addressing inequalities within a vulnerable population.

By streamlining access to care, a local pharmacy would ease pressure on GP practices and neighbouring pharmacies, ensuring that residents receive timely support close to home. Ultimately, this would improve health outcomes and enhance wellbeing across the whole community.
