Survey Introduction This survey was developed and launched by
Pendulum Dependent Care Solutions (PDCS) on behalf of United Way of Story County, in partnership with the Ames Regional Economic Alliance (AREA), as part of a comprehensive
Child Care Feasibility Study to better understand the current child care landscape in Story County, Iowa.
This survey is intended for parents and caregivers in Story County who:
- Are currently using child care, or
- Are currently seeking or in need of child care, or
- Expect to need child care in the future (for example, due to a new child, change in work or school schedule, or upcoming transition)
The purpose of this survey is to gather information about child care use, access, affordability, waitlists, and challenges in order to inform solutions that support families, providers, and the local workforce. Participation is voluntary, and all responses will remain confidential and reported only in aggregate.
As a thank you for participating, respondents may enter a
drawing for a $25 Amazon gift card.
If you
do not currently use child care and do not anticipate needing child care, this survey is not intended for you, and you may exit at this time.

- Duration: Approximately 8-10 minutes.
