Help Shape the Future of Eastmont Schools

Dear Parents, Staff, and the Eastmont Community,
Over the past school year, a dedicated group of 39 community members has worked tirelessly to analyze our enrollment projections, program needs, and the current state of our facilities. On May 11th, this committee presented a formal recommendation to the Eastmont School Board: a bond measure to rebuild Cascade, Kenroy, and Lee Elementary Schools.
The committee’s findings indicate that rebuilding is the most financially responsible long-term path for our district. As a member of this committee myself, I witnessed firsthand the rigor and debate required to reach a 100% consensus on this recommendation. On behalf of the Board, I want to extend a sincere thank you to these volunteers for their commitment to our students’ future.
Summary of the Recommendation
The Community Facility Study Committee’s proposal focuses on several critical priorities:
- Replacing Aging Infrastructure: Rebuilding Cascade, Kenroy, and Lee—schools that are heavily over-capacity and rely on portable classrooms over 30 years old.
- Enhancing Safety & Functionality: Modernizing buildings to improve security, reliability, and the daily learning environment for students and staff.
- District-Wide Maintenance: Addressing essential repairs and maintenance across all district facilities.
- Fiscal Responsibility: Taking a practical, long-term approach to facility care and leveraging estimated state funding to reduce the local tax burden.
