We are collecting information on what people know about, and how they feel about proposed waste incinerators. We will use the results to inform candidates in the upcoming Victorian State Election.
We want to know what you think about the Waste Incinerator Plans for Victoria
Some information ... that you may or may not know:
There is a plan to burn 20 MILLION TONNES of Mixed Rubbish just 400 meters from the Merri Creek over the next 30 years in a huge toxic polluting Waste Incinerator. This is planned for Wollert just 15 km away as the wind blows.
There is a similar plan for this side of Sunbury also just 15km away as the wind blows!
There are similar plans for these plastic burning Waste Incinerators on the outer suburbs of Melbourne and Geelong and in Maryvale.
These Waste Incinerators are not permitted in Metro NSW, they are Banned in Canberra but planned for us here in Melbourne. They create toxic air pollution which, in addition to harming health directly (especially of children), permeate water and soil and in burning plastic will create a climate bomb.
The corporations want to keep these plans a secret but the community standing up is our biggest defence against these being built (there are none of these huge scale incinerators in the east of Australia).
