US2 Corridor Public Engagement Survey 1 |
Round 1 Survey
To meet the future transportation needs of the community, the City of Sultan is reimagining the US2 corridor through its city limits.
As part of the City’s efforts to upgrade Sultan’s transportation system, our traffic engineering consultant identified improvements to the US2 corridor as being the most cost-effective method of reducing congestion and improving mobility for the community. US2 is a state and federal highway, so we are coordinating with the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) to plan, design, and construct improvements along this corridor to meet the long-term needs for the City.
In 2020, the City refreshed its approach to addressing traffic congestion by adopting an update to the Transportation Element of its Comprehensive Plan. The City also commissioned a US2 corridor study to consider various options to address the community’s transportation needs. The corridor alternatives evaluated with respect to traffic mobility are summarized here.
As part of this ongoing effort, the City is now seeking input from the public on a wide range of aspects of the US2 corridor including identifying problems to solve, improvements to include, and impacts to avoid.
