Eligibility

Although the CPRS welcomes all participants who wish to write the Public Relations Knowledge (PRK) exam, the exam has been prepared for those who have completed some level of public relations or communications education and is designed to test a participant’s knowledge in the specific field of public relations and communications. Formal studies in the area of public relations or communications is strongly recommended; alternatively, a participant may have acquired direct experience and undertaken self-directed studies in the area. Deferral Policy: Candidates who register for the PRK exam and wish to defer to the next sitting must submit a formal request for deferral to CPRS National Office, Attention: PRK Exam, to certification@cprs.ca ten (10) working days prior to the examination.

Deferral is permitted one time only.
Refund Policy: In the event of cancellation or failure to appear at the exam, the CPRS does not provide a refund to the participant. If a request for deferral is provided 10 working days in advance of the exam, the participant will be permitted a one-time deferral to write at the session immediately following the one in which the participant deferred, at no additional charge.
