These awards aim to highlight the exceptional contributions, innovative spirit, and leadership of women who have made meaningful strides in their field.

Unsung Hero Award
The Unsung Hero Award is a new WICI UK award category for 2026, created to recognise a woman within credit insurance industry whose contribution may not always be highly visible, but whose impact is deeply felt by colleagues, clients, brokers, partners, or the wider market.
This category celebrates the women who consistently go above and beyond, often behind the scenes, to support others, strengthen teams, improve ways of working, uphold professional standards, and contribute to a more inclusive and collaborative credit insurance community.
Nominees may work in any area of the credit insurance ecosystem, including broking, underwriting, account management, sales, claims, operations, risk, compliance, marketing, technology, customer service, administration, or leadership support. The key requirement is that their contribution has had a positive and lasting impact, even if that contribution has often happened away from the spotlight.

To help the jury fully understand the impact of your nominee, please include as much relevant information as possible. A strong nomination should go beyond a job title — it should showcase the nominee’s accomplishments, leadership, and lasting contributions to the industry.

  • Examples of inclusive behaviours, such as encouraging others to contribute, supporting women in the industry, or helping colleagues feel heard and valued.
