We are pleased to offer a year-long program that begins with a four-week summer academy, which includes two college-level courses and continues with a community-based internship for 40 high school students in the 11th and 12th grades from SPA 6 and underserved areas of SPA 8, including Inglewood, Hawthorne, Gardena, Carson, and Wilmington.

This program is designed to help students become competitive college applicants, with a focus on careers in public health, mental health, and behavioral health. Through a combination of tutoring, mentorship, and specialized workshops on mental health and public health, students will receive the academic support and professional development needed to enhance their college applications.

We prioritize transitional-aged youth (TAY), students with lived experience in mental or behavioral health, and those from underrepresented communities in higher education. The program is open to students with a GPA between 2.0 and 3.5, including those who are underperforming or at risk academically.
Over the course of the year, students will receive mentorship from healthcare professionals, engage in academic tutoring, and participate in workshops that focus on healthcare topics. The program also includes a community-based internship, allowing students to gain real-world experience in healthcare settings.

By the end of the program, students will have enhanced their college applications with meaningful experiences, preparing them to be strong, competitive candidates for higher education in healthcare-related fields.
