English Español Français 中文 English Patient engagement in shared decision-making Question Title * 1. Dear Participant, Shared decision-making (SDM) is a collaborative process in which physicians and patients discuss possible treatment options together before making the most optimal decision for the patient. In this process, the patient’s perspective is essential, as treatments often impact daily life and individual preferences and values of each individual. However, literature suggests that SDM is often not part of the standard care, for different reasons. This research aims at gathering information about the factors (barriers and opportunities) that influence SDM, in order to better understand what the gaps are in making better quality of care decisions and providing a more personalized value-based care for patients globally. For that purpose, we ask you to spend approx. 15 minutes and complete this questionnaire. First, we will ask you about your experience with shared decision-making together with your doctor or healthcare professional. If you have a few more minutes, we would also like to hear your opinion and experience regarding the use of new technologies and artificial intelligence (AI) in understanding and managing your health. The questions about AI are optional. There are no right or wrong answers. The survey is completely anonymous, and no personal data is collected – in other words, in no way will it be possible to identify you as an individual. The survey is a collaboration between Radboud University Medical Centre, IAPO, and Patients for Patient Safety Observatory. It will remain open until February 20th.
