Your experience and perceptions of how the Local Government Official Information and Meetings Act 1987 (LGOIMA) is working are important to us, and will contribute to improvements in LGOIMA policies and practices.

Depending on how you answer some of the questions, this survey should take 5 – 10 minutes to complete.

The purpose of this survey
This survey is designed to assist the Chief Ombudsman with his investigation of how Porirua City Council (the Council) adheres to its obligations under the LGOIMA. It seeks the experiences and perceptions of people who have made LGOIMA requests to the Council, or who have been involved in Council meetings in any capacity in the past 6 to 12 months.

Privacy and confidentiality
Replies to all the surveys will be held in confidence by the Office of the Ombudsman, and are not subject to disclosure under the Official Information Act. Individual survey responses will not be disclosed and your identity will remain confidential, however, aggregate data and unattributed comments may appear in the Chief Ombudsman’s investigation report, which will be published.

In order to ensure the integrity of the surveys, you will be asked to provide your email address, so that the responses can be validated or follow up queries sent to you if necessary.

If you choose not to provide your email or name, we will be unable to make use of your response to our survey, as we cannot rely on anonymous responses.

Please be aware that no comments you make in this survey will be interpreted by this Office as a complaint against the agency. If you wish to make a complaint to us about a particular act or decision of the Council you can do so on the Office of the Ombudsman website.
