AANA Resident Video Contest 2026

The AANA Education Committee (“Committee”) is hosting a video competition to showcase exceptional skills, wellness techniques, innovation and advocacy among nurse anesthesiology residents (“Theme”). Videos must demonstrate one of the following:

Exceptional Skill: Demonstrate a particular healthcare skill with outstanding proficiency.
Wellness Techniques: Share effective wellness practices that promote physical, mental, or emotional health.
Innovation: Present innovative solutions or creative ideas that address a healthcare problem or improve a process.
Advocacy: Discuss a policy or issue that is important to you as a future CRNA.

How to Enter:
1. Create an original video that demonstrates the Theme as described above.
2. Submit the entry by completing the online form by May 6, 2026 at 11:59 PM CST. Applicants will be required to provide a link to their video. Please refer to the Steps for Uploading an Unlisted Video to YouTube document for more information.
3. Limit of one entry per person.

Eligibility (at the time of entry):
1. Eighteen (18) years or older.
2. Resident Registered Nurse Anesthetist (RRNA).
3. Student of an accredited nurse anesthesia program.
4. Member of AANA.

Video criteria:
1. Videos must be less than 3 minutes in length.
2. Videos must use professional language, music and content.
3. Content must be original, free of copyrighted material, and free of confidential information.

Videos may be submitted by an individual RRNA or collaboratively by two or more RRNAs. Collaborative submissions may include RRNAs from the same or different nurse anesthesia education programs. Winners will be notified in early-June. All selected winners will be recognized at the American Association of Nurse Anesthesiology Annual Congress during the Resident Breakfast. The Education Committee will recognize at least one winning entry.

The Committee will use the following criteria to assess the videos:
Creativity and Originality: How unique and imaginative is the submission?
Effectiveness: How well does the video achieve its intended purpose?
Clarity and Presentation: How clearly is the message communicated? Is the content easy to follow and understand?
Impact: How memorable and impactful is the video? Does it leave a lasting impression on the viewer?
