Introduction to the survey

Hairy braya are currently listed as a Threatened species in the Northwest Territories (NWT). They were reassessed by the NWT Species at Risk Committee in April 2024. The Committee recommended this species continue to be listed as Threatened based on the species’ small range, specialized habitat requirements and shrinking coastal habitat.

Threatened’ means a species is likely to become Endangered if nothing is done to reverse the factors putting it at risk.
