Women’s Aid Orkney and other partners in Orkney are working with us (Social Value Lab) to find out more about the experiences that young people and adults living in Orkney have in relation to violence against women and girls (VAWG). While the vast majority of incidents reported are by women and girls, we also understand that men, boys and non-binary people can experience sexual and/or other abuse that could be considered controlling or coercive. We encourage anyone who has experience of this nature to complete this anonymous survey for us. Your responses are held entirely in confidence; they will help shape the future of the services that support individuals and families experiencing or at risk of harm.
Please be aware that we use language that may be considered upsetting or triggering in the survey and ask you to be considerate of this if sharing with others to complete.
Scottish Government and COSLA are currently investing in and developing an assessment tool to better understand and reduce VAWG across Scotland. Orkney is the only participating island and therefore our responses are crucial in ensuring that the specific challenges of remote island living are represented in the findings across Scotland.
You can share as much or as little as you are comfortable with. We might use some quotes in our final report, but they will be completely anonymous with no identifying information.
At the end of the survey, you will be asked if you would like to enter a prize draw to win one of three shopping vouchers: £100, £50, £25, as a thank you. If you wish to enter, there will be a link for you to fill in your contact details. The details you provide for the prize draw are completely separate and are not linked to the answers you provide in this survey. We will only use your contact details to contact you in the event you win one of the vouchers, and they will be deleted after the prizes have been drawn.
If you have any questions, please contact rebecca@socialvaluelab.org.uk.
Thank you!
