Open call for vacant studios - Bakehouse Studio Residency Program (2026-2028)

Thank you for your interest in Bakehouse Art Complex's Studio Residency program.
Our Studio Residency Program offers affordable studio spaces to Miami-based artists at all stages of their career, based on artistic merit and need for a dedicated space. We also provide artists with 24/7 access to their studio and shared facility spaces, along with professional and creative development opportunities. These include but are not limited to: Open Studios, exhibition opportunities, organized studio visits with recognized art professionals, internal programming opportunities, and access to a dedicated staff that is committed to helping ensure your success and growth.

This Studio Residency is for a two-year cycle, which can be renewed subject to a jurying process that considers use of space, advancement of practice, as well as presence and participation within the peer community.

Studio fees are assessed based on the completion of a financial information disclosure form. Currently, studio costs are capped at approximately 50% of the market-rate.

This application will be used to determine your acceptance as a studio resident artist. Evaluation will be by a group of external jurors with feedback by the Bakehouse internal team.

The upcoming term starts November 1, 2026 and runs through October 31, 2028.

Evaluations will consider:
1) artistic background, education, commissions, awards and achievements, and recent work;
2) the impact a studio space would have on your artist practice;
3) what you would give to and derive from being in a community such as the Bakehouse.

Deadline to Submit: May 1, 2026 (11:45pm)
All applicants will be notified in June 2026
