The Live Performance Industry has been devastated by COVID-19, there has been a significant loss of experience due to missed opportunities and subsequent career changes. It is important to revitalise the industry from the ground up. Palais Theatre’s ‘OnStage; The Series’ will provide emerging artists and event professionals with the opportunity to perform, work, gain exposure and experience at an iconic and historic venue.
Over six days, in early January 2023, the Palais Theatre will create a unique and diverse series of intimate events where both the artist and audience will be on stage together. With the expansive, beautiful art deco auditorium as the backdrop, emerging and establishing artists will have the opportunity to perform a stripped back set to an exclusive audience in both seated and standing modes.
Behind-the-scenes production – audio and lighting – will be supported by mid-career professionals affected by COVID-19 and students enrolled in event production courses participating in a hands-on work experience program.
To host these events on the stage, a ramp will be built from the auditorium onto the stage and provide an accessible and inclusive atmosphere.
The aim of the ‘OnStage: The Series’ is to include a diverse range of artists from different genres, and to aid in accelerating the careers of those on stage, as well as the production crew making the magic happen behind-the-scenes.
If you are an artist who would like to apply for the opportunity to perform in ‘OnStage: The Series” applications are open now.
Applications Close: Tuesday 16th August 2022 @ 5pm
