The Town of Stouffville is developing a Stormwater Management Master Plan to establish a comprehensive strategy to manage stormwater.

Stormwater is the rain and melted snow that runs off streets and properties, into creeks and streams, and eventually into rivers and the Great Lakes.

The Town is developing a Stormwater Management Master Plan (“SWM Master Plan”) to understand the stormwater system needs through to the year 2051, and recommend solutions where needed. It will consider opportunities to improve water quality and reduce urban flooding and recommend improvements to the reliability, efficiency, and capability of the Town’s stormwater system.

This project will:

1. Help us understand the current performance of the stormwater network in the Town. It will also consider future stormwater needs as the community grows.

2. Identify and rank different stormwater management solutions over the short-term and long-term. It will recommend solutions to improve existing conditions and to use in new developments.

3. Help the Town schedule and budget for additional projects between now and 2051 and provide cost estimates and suggest funding opportunities for these projects

The survey should take approximately 10 minutes to complete. The information boards from the Public Information Centre (PIC) held May 28, 2026, are available online by clicking here:
