Election of Officers

Article IV Elections of the APA Central Ohio Bylaws states that an election of officers shall take place virtually every other year, and that any Section member who wishes to be considered for candidacy has the opportunity and that all Section members have the opportunity to vote.

Please read each biography below and make selections as instructed.

Question Title

Sierra Saumenig, AICP has her master's in City and Regional Planning from The Ohio State University. With over seven years of experience in the public sector including local municipalities and county agencies, she has expertise in shaping urban landscapes to foster sustainable growth. Her passion for planning lies within her dedication to creating a built environment that all people can live and thrive in. She has laid roots in Central Ohio and hopes to continue making a meaningful impact. She most recently served as Social Chair for the APA Central Ohio Board and hopes to continue to serve in the Director role where she will foster connections and make the Central Ohio chapter stronger.

Question Title

Sayee Mudholkar, AICP is an Associate Urban Planner/Designer in the Urban Planning & Design practice at NBBJ’s Columbus office. She has over 8 years of experience working in the various related fields of urban design, planning, and architectural design. With a background in architecture from Mumbai, India, Sayee earned her master’s degree in City and Regional Planning through The Ohio State University and went on to work with a local non-profit design firm – The Neighborhood Design Center, prior to her work at NBBJ. In her recent years at NBBJ, Sayee has advanced her planning skills through multiple healthcare and higher-ed campus planning projects across the country. In addition to healthcare and campus planning, she is experienced at urban design and streetscape planning, placemaking, community engagement, and neighborhood planning. Sayee currently serves on the Central Ohio Chapter of the APA and is an active member of NBBJ’s Global Sustainability Series initiative.

Scott Ulrich, AICP is currently a Grants Management Analyst with the City of Columbus, where he manages federal HUD funding for the City and works with partners to invest in community development programs and projects that improve quality of life for low- to moderate-income populations and the most vulnerable residents of Columbus. In the past he has worked as a Policy Analyst and Healthy Places Program Coordinator at Columbus Public Health, and as a Planner for the Franklin County Economic Development & Planning Department.

Question Title

* Section Chair, Social Events
Marcus Duemmel is a planner for Franklin County in zoning and land use. In his career journey, he has experienced firsthand the benefit and impact of networking and social activity in the planning field due to the connections he forged that helped him both in finding career opportunities but also in learning from the experience of other planners. He believes strongly in creating spaces and activities that provide opportunity for planners to network, exchange ideas, and to simply socialize. If chosen as Social Chair for APA Central Ohio, he will work to foster these opportunities for planners to grow their social and professional networks, expand their knowledge, and spread ideas to enhance the positive impact of planners throughout Central Ohio.

* Section Chair, Planning & Zoning Workshop
Jalen Miller is a Planner at Toole Design. Since 2022, he has served on the board of the APA Central Ohio Chapter. At Toole he brings his passion and expertise to bridge the gap between communities and the built environment. Jalen finds fulfillment in using his abilities to enhance how communities are developed through public engagement, planning, and urban design. His primary objective is to ensure that communities are safe, inclusive, and equitable for all. His dedication stems from his belief that the built environment has the power to shape people's lives. He is committed to creating spaces that foster connection, collaboration, and well-being.

Christopher Will, AICP has been a Planner with the City of Dublin since 2021. Prior to this, he was a Planner with MKSK in Columbus for four years. He received his Masters of City and Regional Planning from The Ohio State University in 2018 and received his Bachelor's Degree in Urban Planning (Cum Laude) from the University of Cincinnati in 2011. He became a member of the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) in 2020.

Question Title

Anna Kelsey has been the Planning and Zoning Administrator for the City of Delaware since November of 2023, having started at the City as a Development Planner in 2021. She serves the 40,000+ residents of the City coordinating land development projects with private applicants and City staff across a wide range of departments and reviewing a wide range of permit applications. Currently, she is helping to coordinate Delaware’s city-led zoning code update. She is passionate about educating the public about the field of planning and its history and prides herself on helping residents, developers, and government officials understand more about best practices and planning procedures. Prior to working with the City, she spent a year working in private sector architecture with WD Partners in Dublin and six months working as an Americorps VISTA with Homes on the Hill CDC in Columbus. She is a 2019 graduate of The Ohio State University with a Bachelor of Science in City and Regional Planning and is currently preparing to take the AICP exam.

Question Title

Adam Frierson is an Assistant Planner at the City of Columbus. As a part of his day to day roles, he helps with staffing the City’s Downtown Commission and the Historic Resources Commission (HRC) among a few other roles such as, assisting with Division’s Innovation through Technology Team and working on efforts with the City’s Zoning Code Update, Zone In. Prior to working for the City, he interned with two local Planning firms, MKSK Studios and Planning NEXT where he gained necessary planning skills & early experience. He completed his Bachelor’s Degree in City and Regional Planning at OSU through the Knowlton School of Architecture in 2023, graduating this past May. He is very passionate about cities and loves to research and to travel to different cities across the country. He is passionate about Columbus because he believes the City is on a great path for future growth and further development and he is eager to support this growth.
