Climate change is already affecting the Central Okanagan through more frequent and severe events such as extreme heat, wildfire smoke, flooding, drought, and severe weather. These events can affect health and safety, damage homes and infrastructure, disrupt essential services, and impact daily life.
The Regional District of the Central Okanagan is developing a Regional Climate Resilience Strategy to better understand climate related risks across the region and identify practical ways to reduce impacts and strengthen preparedness over time.
As part of this work, we want to hear from residents about their experiences, concerns and priorities related to climate related events.
