The Information Training & Outreach Centre for Africa (ITOCA) in partnership with Cornell University Mann Library are pleased to announce that they will be hosting an online evidence synthesis training for African librarians. The course will be offered in English and is open to librarians and information specialists from African countries:
Program description:
The 4 Day synchronous training will be delivered on ZOOM from the 19th to the 22nd of May 2026. The training will run for a period of 4.5 hours each day and will cover the following topics:
- overview of systematic reviews and similar methodologies,
- guidelines and standards,
- search strategy development,
- software tools,
- quality assessment, and
- systematic review services.
Eligibility:
To qualify for this training, you must hold a minimum of a first degree in Library and Information Science or a related discipline and have a professional role as an information specialist or librarian for a minimum of 2 years.
Cost: This training program will be offered at a cost of USD120 / ZAR1900.
