2019: City completed data collection and safety analysis on Alameda Ave.

2020: City presented safety analysis results at a virtual public meeting.

2023: City contractor completed the proposed design for a 4-to-3 lane conversion.

2024: City held two public meetings at Steele and Lincoln Elementary Schools to collect feedback. The project design was finalized, featuring a 3-lane configuration with center turn lane and 5-foot pedestrian buffers.

April 2025: City delivered construction notices to neighbors announcing summer 2025 construction.

November 7, 2025: City released a revised design featuring a 4-lane configuration (2 eastbound, 1 westbound, 1 center turn lane). The change added an estimated $100,000 to the project cost.
