Following last year’s successful NEAW, the Ministry of Economic Development of Curaçao (MEO), in cooperation with CINEX and other stakeholders  will be hosting once again the NEAW from May 20 – 24, 2019 at the World Trade Center, Curaçao (WTC).

Curaçao unleashing the potential of social enterprises for export!
Curacao - Official partner for European Social Economy Region (ESER ) 2019
Curacao has been selected as official partner for the ESER in 2019 which has attracted more than 50 regions and cities from 16 EU countries and Competitiveness of Enterprises and SMEs (COSME)  third countries. Social entrepreneurship is the use of start-up companies and other entrepreneurs to develop, fund and implement solutions to social, cultural, or environmental issues. A growing number of social entrepreneurs from Curacao are accessing new markets and furthering their social mission through overseas trade.
Despite the role that social enterprises play in our economy, many social entrepreneurs experience challenges in accessing funding and finance. The challenges when it comes to financing may be diverse but social entrepreneurs also have numerous challenges in common. The NEAW provides a platform on Thursday, May 23, 2019, to create more awareness on social economy. Dr. Ulla Engelmann from the European Commission will deliver the keynote speech during the NEAW-ESER event which aims to exchange views with regional and local social economy stakeholders. The focus is on current societal challenges and you will listen to social entrepreneurs experiences and stakeholder suggestions for future collaboration and co-creation of policies in social economy.
