OVERVIEW (Please read carefully): The Baker Adams Scholarship is awarded by the Georgetown School Committee to students whose past achievements are aligned with the values of Baker Adams. The spirit of the Baker Adams Scholarship is to provide financial assistance towards any post-secondary educational institution to Georgetown residents who encompass a commitment to community and furthering their education. Baker Adams (1907-1997), a graduate of Tufts University (1927) and Harvard Law School (1931), practiced in law in Boston and Haverhill before maintaining a private law practice in Georgetown. Mr. Adams’ life was exemplified with a commitment to his community that included his service in public office as a Selectman, Trustee of the Georgetown Peabody Library, member of the Finance Committee and Town Moderator for more than 25 years. In addition to his public service, Mr. Adams served on several other local civic organizations. As part of his legacy and in continuation of his commitment to the Georgetown community, Mr. Adams established the Baker Adams Scholarship. He afforded the Georgetown School Committee the unique opportunity to select scholarship recipients based on criteria that includes community involvement, academic achievement, and financial need. Over the past eighteen years, the Baker Adams Scholarship has awarded more than $450,000 in scholarships for our students. All applications for the Baker Adams Scholarship are considered anonymously. When your application is distributed to the selection committee, your name will be removed and replaced by a number. The name and email address entered below will only be used for administrative purposes. Please note this application is for Georgetown residents of the Class of 2026 only.
