Addressing Age and Homelessness in Disaster Planning Webinar

This NHCHC and NCECE webinar will examine gaps in disaster preparedness affecting homeless older adults. Participants will consider strategies for improving communication with homeless older adults during disasters and strengthening community partnerships that provide essential services and resources.

At the conclusion of this webinar, participants will be able to:
  • Explain unique emergency preparedness challenges faced by community-dwelling older adults
  • Identify effective engagement approaches for outreach and engagement of homeless older adults before, during, and after disaster events
  • Consider shared strategies and community partnership models to improve access to critical disaster-related resources for this population
