2026 Mpact Transit + Community Conference Scholarship Application

The Mpact Transit + Community conference, founded in 1995 as Rail~Volution, is North America’s foremost gathering of practitioners, leaders, and advocates dedicated to building stronger, more vibrant communities around transit. Conference sessions, plenaries and mobile workshops focus on the whole community built around transit and multimodal investments, from the modes themselves to the built environment and architecture, engineering and urban design, from housing and transit-oriented development to business and economic growth, as well as the implications for health, safety, sustainability, access to opportunity and overall quality of life for everyone.

Scholarships: We strive to foster an inclusive environment at the Mpact Transit + Community Conference where people from all backgrounds can learn, connect, and grow together. We understand that financial barriers may make it difficult for some to attend. To help, we offer a limited number of scholarships that provide free conference registration. Please note that we are unable to offer travel assistance this year.

Who are scholarships for? Because we have limited funds, scholarship applications are prioritized to those working for or associated with community-based organizations or transit advocacy organizations. Applications are reviewed and approved based on demonstrated need (e.g., could this individual otherwise attend the conference?). We are only able to award one scholarship per person. If you received a scholarship to attend our conference in 2025 or 2024, you are not eligible to re-apply. Scholarships are non-transferrable.

What do scholarships cover? Scholarships provide a free registration for the conference (nonprofit registration rates are US$645-US$745 / CAD$885-CAD$1021). Pre-Conference Events and Mobile Workshops and any other events that require separate fees are not part of the scholarship. Scholarship recipients will need to pay for their own travel, meals and (if needed) lodging. Scholarship recipients are expected to attend the full duration of the Mpact Transit + Community conference.

Important Dates: Scholarship applications are due by 11:45pm CDT on June 30, 2026, with awards announced the week of July 20, 2026. Applications received after June 30 will be considered on a rolling basis pending eligibility and available funds.
