Camp MetroTown 2025 High School Delegate Application
1.
Camp MetroTown Overview
Camp MetroTown is Mosaic Miami’s flagship youth leadership program, offering high school students from across South Florida an immersive residential experience from Sunday, June 22, 2025 (starting at noon), to Friday, June 27, 2025 (ending at 4:00 p.m.), at Barry University, located in Miami Shores, Florida. This six-day, five-night program is designed to foster leadership, empathy, and social awareness among students in a safe and inclusive environment.
Being selected to attend Camp MetroTown is a significant honor, as each participant receives a scholarship to cover the program's costs, valued at approximately $2,500 per student. This scholarship reflects the investment Mosaic Miami and its supporters make in cultivating the next generation of leaders who are committed to creating a more just and inclusive community. Delegates join a prestigious tradition that began with the Anytown model, a nationally recognized movement for youth leadership development, and continues uniquely in South Florida through Camp MetroTown.
Rooted in the traditions of Mosaic Miami’s nearly 100 years of bridge-building and the Anytown model, MetroTown challenges participants to engage in meaningful dialogue, explore diverse perspectives, and collaborate across differences. Delegates participate in interactive workshops, creative performances, and large and small group dialogues that explore pressing social issues such as race, gender, socioeconomic inequities, and cultural identity. Activities also include recreational events, guided reflections, and a culminating event that celebrates participants’ unique identities.
Participants, known as Delegates, will be housed in the dormitories at Barry University under the supervision of Mosaic Miami’s trained Camp MetroTown summer staff. Supported by peer counselors and advisors, Delegates will experience a nurturing and structured residential setting designed to promote inclusion, respect, and personal growth. Delegates will also engage with Mosaic Miami’s core values, including recognizing each individual’s worth, seeking empathy, and fostering positive change. They leave MetroTown empowered to lead initiatives that address social challenges and create more just and inclusive communities.
MetroTown is more than a camp—it’s an honor and an investment in the future of South Florida. Delegates are part of a legacy of leadership and social impact that spans decades. Take the first step in joining this powerful movement today!
Attendance Requirement: MetroTown is a full-time residential experience, and participants are required to remain present for the entire duration. Delegates are not permitted to leave for work, other engagements, or personal obligations, as full participation is essential for the program’s success.
