NJACCHO is pleased to sponsor a series of Media Training Workshops for
public health officials across New Jersey. These workshops are
designed to equip participants with essential media communication skills, ensuring they are
well-prepared to represent their agencies effectively and manage public communications,
especially during crises.
Program Objectives:
-Enhance the ability of public health officials to communicate effectively with the media.
-Develop clear and consistent messaging tailored to various audiences and platforms.
-Provide practical skills for handling media interviews and managing difficult questions.
-Prepare participants to navigate media interactions during public health crises.
These full day (10:00am - 3:00pm), comprehensive and highly interactive trainings will cover risk communication principals and strategies, along with interactive exercises including: develop key messages for public health issues, mock interview and feedback, develop and deliver a media statement.
This training is appropriate for any public health professional who is likely to interact or provide information to the media or other community stakeholders during an emergency.
