The Minnesota State Arts Board believes that lives across the state are enriched by arts and creative experiences, and works to ensure that all Minnesotans can participate in and benefit from those experiences. Recognizing that barriers or disparities may exist because of geography, disability, age, income, race/ethnicity, or other factors, the board is creating a plan to promote greater equity in the arts.

Your voice matters. The Arts Board needs your ideas to develop an arts equity plan that draws on the experiences and perspectives of all Minnesotans to help communities be more welcoming, healthy, and vibrant. Below is our process and timeline:
  • Round 1 Engagement - through December 2022: Reach out to and gather input from key stakeholders
  • Analysis, Round 2 engagement, and Report - early 2023:
    • Compile and analyze Round 1 results, and prepare draft learnings
    • Conduct Round 2 engagement to gather feedback on draft learnings
    • Use Round 2 results to prepare final Engagement Report
  • Develop equity plan - 2023: Use these engagement results and other information to develop and implement an equity plan to help guide the Arts Board’s work
Thank you in advance for your ideas. Learn more and follow the project here.
