Seas the Opportunity - Poetry and Art Competition

Catalysing the ambition of youth to inspire action in our decision makers.

The Coastal Futures Conference is the UK's largest marine conference, gathering over 780 key delegates, including ministers, policymakers, academics, and professionals.

We recognise that despite being the largest demographic, youth voices are often underrepresented in critical discussions. We are running this competition to ensure your perspective is heard in the rooms where key decisions about our ocean's future are made.
🌊 Who Can Enter?

Age: You must be aged 16-30.
What: Submit an original Poem or Artwork.

💡 What Are We Looking For?

We invite you to explore your personal connection to the ocean and share your vision for its future. Use the following questions as inspiration for your submission:
  • What would a thriving ocean look and sound like in a world where we meet our pledges?
  • What special memories do you have by the seaside?
  • What 'emoceans' do you feel when you think about our blue planet?
  • Why is the ocean special or sacred to you?
  • If you were granted the power to make key policy decisions, what decisions would you make today?
