
Business Pressures and Pharmacy Professionals' Well-Being Survey |
Important information about this survey
Purpose
To determine the current state of business pressures in pharmacy in Ontario. We will ask questions to better understand how business pressures impact your ability to meet the standards of practice, including the ethical code, as well as how they impact your own well-being. This survey will create a baseline that we will continue to measure against on an annual basis.
Confidentiality
Your participation in this survey is optional and anonymous; data collected cannot be linked to your registration information.
Length
The survey should take approximately 15 minutes to complete.
Reporting
In addition to reporting on Ontario-specific results, we may use your responses to develop a national picture of business pressures by combining them with responses provided by pharmacy professionals in other provinces.

Terms we use throughout this survey
Business pressures: Refers to the use of activities or tactics in your place of practice/workplace that get in the way of your ability to provide safe and quality care to patients, prevent you from meeting your responsibilities as a healthcare professional or impede your autonomy to make decisions in the best interests of your patients. These activities could include volume or financial targets, quotas, intentional understaffing, performance metrics, evaluations/incentives linked to service volume or other tactics.
Standards of practice: Refers to the NAPRA Model Standards of Practice for Pharmacists and the NAPRA Model Standards of Practice for Pharmacy Technicians. These documents outline the minimum standards that all registered pharmacists and pharmacy technicians must meet.
Ethical code: Refers to the OCP Code of Ethics. The Code of Ethics outlines the core ethical principles that dictate a healthcare professional’s ethical duty to patients and society.
