Mirror Memoirs Membership Survey
We are expanding our membership network in 2023!
Can you imagine a world without ALL forms of rape? How do we support ALL survivors?
Mirror Memoirs raises these questions and, by uplifting the stories, healing and leadership of child sexual abuse survivors who are LGBTQI+ Black and Indigenous people and/or people of color (BIPOC), provides a vision to galvanize all survivors (and our allies) to create a world without rape.
Our national storytelling and organizing project responds to the historical violence of genocide and slavery in the US that leaves Black and Indigenous children disproportionately vulnerable to violence today, and builds on the American Academy of Pediatrics’ 2012 study showing gender non-conformity is a risk factor for sexual abuse and their 2021 study showing transgender children are raped or sexually assaulted at higher rates than cisgender children.
As we prepare to disseminate our initial audio archive beginning in Fall 2023, we are also wondering what folks want to see from us, as an emerging organization.
Please help us reach our goal of surveying at least 1,000 people who are committed to ending child sexual abuse by supporting intersectional survivor leadership!
You may choose to complete this survey anonymously or by sharing your contact information. Either way, all data will not be seen beyond the Mirror Memoirs staff and board. All data will be anonymized for inclusion in any public reports. Mirror Memoirs staff will not share any quotes with your name attached without first obtaining your explicit permission.
Keep in mind Mirror Memoirs membership is open to ANYONE. BIPOC LGBTQI+ child sexual abuse survivors can become General or Core Members; everyone else can become an Accomplice Member. Membership is free, but if you have capacity to become a Sustaining Member with a monthly recurring pledge of $5/month or more, you help ensure we have the resources we need to keep interviewing survivors, creating educational tools and advocacy efforts based on our stories, and responding to the emergent needs of our most vulnerable members. You can make a Sustaining Member pledge at: mirrormemoirs.networkforgood.com
Thank you for all you do to co-create a world without rape! We are glad to be in this fight together.
