Attention! Authors intending to submit a workshop or challenge paper: Travel grant application deadline is 2 weeks earlier than some paper submission deadlines. Applicants do not need to wait for paper acceptance notifications to apply.

Eligibility:
  1. Recipients of travel grants must have an accepted MICCAI2026 main conference paper or a MICCAI2026 satellite event paper. Satellite events include any MICCAI workshops, challenges, open-data, and also CLINICCAI. Applicants with a first-authored accepted paper will be prioritized. Applicants do not need to wait for paper acceptance notifications to apply (the application deadlines fall before paper acceptance notification dates).
  2. Candidates who are a current student or within two years of their terminal degree (i.e., MICCAI Young Scientists), or those within four years of their terminal degree (i.e., Early-Career Scientists).
  3. Candidates from underserved gender and racial/ethnicity groups, differing abilities, low-income and lower-middle-income countries, or countries that are underrepresented in MICCAI conferences will be prioritized.

Details:
  • Recipients of Travel Grants will receive financial support of up to $2,500 (USD) per grant to contribute towards conference registration, MICCAI membership, lodging, and travel costs. Travel arrangements must be made through the conference registration office, including flight and lodging bookings. Travel grant recipients are expected to share rooms.
  • Proof of student/early-career/young scientist status and paper acceptance will be required at the time of grant notification.
  • Recipients of Travel Grants are required to submit a commitment to attend letter from their institution at the time of grant notification. Recipients are also required to submit proof of MICCAI2026 participation immediately after the conference.
  • Successful candidates will be notified by email no later than Monday, August 3, 2026. Unsuccessful candidates will NOT be notified but will be maintained on a ranked list. When additional funds become available, the next-ranked candidate will be notified.
  • The grants are intended to support in-person participation in the MICCAI conference. If a selected grantee is unable to attend the conference in person, the grant will be awarded to the next candidate on the ranked list.
