IFoA Mental Health Working Party

7.Background

Survey aims
This short survey aims to understand the current mental health and wellbeing landscape across different stages of the actuarial career. The responses will help raise awareness, identify common challenges and sources of support, and may be used to inform future initiatives of the IFoA’s Mental Health Working Party. All responses are anonymous.
1.Which best describes your current stage in your actuarial career?
2.Which region do you primarily work or study in?
3.Over the past 12 months, how often have you experienced stress or mental health challenges related to work or study that have interfered with your work, leisure or relationships?
4.Which of the following have contributed to these challenges? (Select all that apply)
5.Does your employer offer an Employee Assistance Program (EAP) or other support service for mental health?
6.What has helped you manage or maintain your wellbeing and/or mental health? (Select all that apply)
7.How comfortable do you feel talking about mental health in your current work or study environment?
8.How would you currently rate your mental health and wellbeing at work or while studying?
9.Reflections and Suggestions: Is there anything else you’d like to share about your experience of mental health and wellbeing in the actuarial profession?

You could tell us about:
· What has helped you, or something you wish existed from your workplace or actuarial professional body (e.g. IFoA, SOA, IAA)
· A time you felt supported or unsupported, or barriers you’ve faced.
· How your experience has changed over time.
· Suggestions for what the Mental Health Working Party could explore
