About The Parramatta Play Project
The Parramatta Play Project is a collaborative, place-based playwriting project that brings together eight writers to create a new, full-length Australian play inspired by Parramatta’s layered histories and contemporary identity.
Led by Creative Producer and Director Augusta Supple, the work will be written at various sites across Parramatta and developed through a series of prompts, provocations and collaborative exercises.
Developed in partnership with Baramadagal Knowledge Holders, local cultural organisations and heritage experts, The Parramatta Play Project centres Western Sydney artists.
The Parramatta Play project will commence in late January 2026 and will culminate in a professional reading at The Rex Cramphorn Studio, University of Sydney in April 2026.
Each writer will be paid $4,000 (incl Super and GST) for their contribution to the project.
