Confidentiality
Training with Assistance Paws is a service delivered to people with disability. It is therefore a confidential process that requires that their privacy and circumstances are protected.
Trainers agree not to reveal anything that happens or that is said in training sessions, except to the client, their training supervisor or to Assistance Paws unless:
Where the Client gives written consent;
Where a party is required by law to disclose information (for example, there are reasonable grounds to believe that the disclosure is necessary to prevent or minimise the danger of harm to a person).
Trainers agree not to share or disclose any internal documents or materials provided to them by Assistance Paws (Assistance Animals International Pty Ltd) except in use with the person and their animal undertaking training.
Trainers agree to keep Assistance Paws up to date with progress of their clients using appropriate communication that respects their privacy (eg secure email, phone conversation or other agreed communication channels).
Trainers may be invited to a private facebook group. Trainers agree that any information in the group shall not be copied, screenshot or shared outside of the group. Trainers will be mindful that information shared in the group must be deidentified if it is about a client situation.
Trainers agree not to share photos or identifiable information about Assistance Paws clients on their social media, or websites, unless they have the express permission of the client and Assistance Paws. Trainers will tag Assistance Paws to acknowledge the team jacket.
