PMSA Awards for Teaching and Service
Each year, the Penticton Medical Staff Association (PMSA) presents two awards; Outstanding Teaching in Medicine and Outstanding Service in Medicine.
One MSA member is selected for each award based on information provided by their peers (nominators), MSA member voting process and final review through the MSA awards committee.
If you are considering nominating one or more of your colleagues please read the criterion below and proceed to survey questions. Nominations for both types of awards will be accepted until October 31, 2025.
In the event of nominating multiple colleagues or a nominee in both award categories, please complete a separate survey for each nomination.

Nominees for Award for Outstanding Service in Medicine:
- Are innovators in their respective field of medicine.
- Provide exceptional patient care.
- Able to champion change through:
- leading by example,
- bringing new technology or treatments to PRH,
- streamlining and/or innovating current medical services towards providing better patient care.
- Is someone that goes above and beyond the call of duty.
Nominees for Award for Outstanding Teaching in Medicine:
- Are dedicated to ensuring learning opportunities are available for residents and/or colleagues.
- Lead or champion opportunities to promote and/or increase learning towards current evidence-based practice.
- Encourage, facilitate, and/or support others in career and leadership development.
- Contribute to success of colleagues through sharing insight, perspective, and knowledge based on experience.
- Act as an effective role model in medical leadership or primary care.
- Are recognized by residents/colleagues as an excellent clinical teacher.
- Demonstrate strong commitment to residency education.
- Are known as a role model for his/her clinical contributions and care of patients.
