Guidelines:
Thank you for your interest in covering Chicago's New Year's Eve Celebration (December 31, 2025) presented by the City of Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events (DCASE). Please read the guidelines below.
- Media credentials will only be granted to legitimate working media.
- Media representatives who plan to publish reviews, photographs; or video of DCASE events are required to secure proper credentials and work inside the guidelines set by DCASE.
- Media requests must be submitted no later than one week prior to the event start date for each event you are requesting credentials for. You can not request media credentials in-person at the event.
- Not all requests will be granted and should not be considered approved until expressly granted. You will be contacted by email if you have been approved for credentials.
- Media credentials are limited to designated areas and do not include onstage and backstage access.
- Each media outlet is limited to one press and one photo request. If credentialed, media may not bring a guest.
- Video and audio recording for broadcast is allowed up to 5 minutes for non-commercial use only. Any commercial use is prohibited without artist consent and written authorization by the City of Chicago DCASE.
- Drones are prohibited.
- Media that are granted credentials are expected to respect each other in the photo pit.
- DCASE reserves the right to deny or revoke media credentials for misuse or misrepresentation.
