The existing Australian Dental Council (ADC) and Dental Council (New Zealand) (DC(NZ)) Accreditation Standards (the Standards) for dental practitioner programs are undergoing a cyclic review to ensure the Standards remain current with contemporary benchmarks and expectations, are easy to use and appropriately focused on public safety.
The ADC and DC(NZ) consider the Standards effective if newly qualified dental practitioners from Australian and New Zealand accredited education programs are competent and safe to practise.
At this stage of the review, we now invite dental practitioners, health professionals, community members, dental educators, professional bodies, and interested parties to provide feedback on the draft revised Accreditation Standards.
Please read both the consultation paper for the proposed changes and the draft ADC/DC(NZ) Accreditation Standards for dental practitioners, and then complete the following questions.
Responses to this consultation will be carefully considered and any necessary amendments made to the draft Standards.
