General Information

In 2001, the City of Hamilton created a Solid Waste Management Master Plan (SWMMP) that provided the blueprint for the City’s solid waste management program for the next 25 years. The SWMMP included blue box recycling, source separated (green bin) organics, yard waste, household hazardous waste and garbage, as well as the public education and other support pieces of the program. The SWMMP was updated in 2012 and assessed the status of the City’s waste management system and, with input from the public, identified a path forward in managing the City’s residential solid waste to 2036.

The City is preparing an update to the Solid Waste Management Master Plan. To complete this update, the City is once again seeking input from the public and would appreciate your assistance in completing the following survey.
