AAAE: Australian Educators’ Feedback on the Proposed Teaching and Learning Commission

Minister for Education, The Hon Jason Clare MP, has proposed bringing together ACARA, AITSL, AERO and ESA into a new Teaching and Learning Commission to support implementation of the Better and Fairer Schools Agreements (BFSA). AAAE would like to hear your views. This short survey should take no more than 5 minutes.

All members of AAAE’s affiliated associations are welcome to respond.
1.What is your overall response to the proposal to amalgamate ACARA, AITSL, AERO, and ESA?
2.Would you support more alignment and collaboration between ACARA, AITSL, AERO and ESA, rather than an amalgamated body?
3.In your view, what are the potential benefits of creating a single Teaching and Learning Commission?
4.What are the potential risks or concerns you see with this amalgamation?
5.In your view, do the potential benefits outweigh the potential risks?
6.If the new Commission is established, what are the top 2–3 priorities you would want it to address for education broadly?
7.In your view, should Education Ministers wait to review a detailed proposal, developed following extensive consultation with the education community, before considering any in-principle agreement?
8.Any other comments
Thank you for sharing your views with the Australian Alliance of Associations in Education (AAAE). We will work with our member associations to form a response to Education Ministers as we continue to advocate for our members.
