Proteins are a key component of our daily nutrition. However, Europe is heavily dependent on imports in this area – closing the protein gap will be one of the biggest challenges in the coming years. At the same time, new technologies and approaches are opening up enormous opportunities for agriculture, the food and feed industries, and society as a whole.
The Agro Innovation Lab is therefore launching a special innovation programme focusing on proteins. We are looking for innovators who are rethinking access to proteins: solutions that help to secure the protein supply in Europe, create sustainable value and reduce existing dependencies.
Whether in food or feed, new ways are needed to strengthen self-sufficiency, use resources efficiently and ensure the future viability of agriculture!
