Long Beach City College Gender Equity Survey

LBCC's Commission on the Status of Women and Gender Equity is working to create and implement initiatives that strengthen the experience of staff, faculty, and the school community as a whole as it relates specifically to gender equity and the impacts on community members of marginalized genders. As a part of these efforts, LBCC has partnered with the Confluence Rising formerly known as CCEJ, a nonprofit organization whose mission is to educate and empower youth and adults to lead change for equity and justice in our communities.

This is an anonymous survey open to all LBCC community members to help Confluence Rising gather a greater understanding about the experiences, needs and feelings the staff, faculty and students within the LBCC community have related to its Climate and Culture. Your responses will help shape community priorities around gender equity. Confluence Rising will also be facilitating a series of in-person Listening Sessions to support with capturing a full range of experiences within the LBCC community.

To help Confluence Rising learn about the current Climate (how people experience or feel about working and/or learning within the LBCC community) and Culture (the identity, values, and norms within the LBCC community) we invite you to please take between 15 – 45 minutes to complete the survey questions below. Please note that if you cannot guard the time to complete the survey in one sitting, your responses will only save on the same device you paused on survey.

How will the information collected from this survey be used?
Data from this survey and the related Listening Sessions will be utilized to put together a report for LBCC, reflecting findings about the overall climate surrounding Gender Equity at LBCC, including recommendations for future policy, practice and culture focuses. Within the climate report, Confluence Rising staff will refer to the themes and patterns as well as specific, anonymous responses. Only Confluence Rising staff will see the raw data collected from the survey.

Do I need to answer all the questions?
While we encourage folks to answer as many of the questions as possible, no questions are mandatory. We believe in the importance of choice and invite you to share reflections that will ultimately help strengthen the LBCC community. That being said, the more information you share, the more we have to work with!

Please answer honestly and with specific examples when you can. Thank you for your time and energy on this survey as we collectively work to make LBCC a more inclusive place for staff, faculty, students, board and the school community at-large!
