All Council candidates, both new and incumbent, must complete the RCDSO Orientation Training: Council/Non-Council Committee Positions module by September 18, 2026 at 4 p.m. to be eligible to run for election. Candidates should complete the module before starting the application: It has information about eligibility, duties/expectations and the mandate of the College's Council and committees, which will be helpful to you before you start this application.
The process to become a candidate in the 2026 Council election includes completing the following:
All Council candidates, both new and incumbent, must complete the RCDSO Orientation Training: Council/Non-Council Committee Positions module by September 18, 2026 at 4 p.m. to be eligible to run for election. Candidates should complete the module before starting the application: It has information about eligibility, duties/expectations and the mandate of the College's Council and committees, which will be helpful to you before you start this application.
The process to become a candidate in the 2026 Council election includes completing the following:
- Eligibility Questions;
- Declaration Form;
- Council Competencies Questionnaire;
- Council Competency-based Questions;
- Committee Competencies Questionnaire;
- Chair Questionnaire;
- Equity and Representation Questionnaire (voluntary); and
- Upload your resume, a written candidate statement and a headshot, and list your social media platforms.
This application will take between 45-60 minutes to complete. If you leave the form and return to it later on the same device using the same IP address, your progress will be saved.
You must submit this application by Friday, September 18, 2026 at 4 p.m. to be eligible to run for election.

All candidates—both new and incumbent—must first have their eligibility to stand for election assessed by the Governance Committee. The Governance Committee will review the application form, and any supporting materials as part of the competency-based assessment process. This process will include a brief virtual interview with a panel of the Governance Committee. The Committee’s decision will be communicated to you in writing on or before October 23, 2026. If you become a Council member, the information contained in the application form and any other supporting materials may also be considered by the Governance Committee to help inform committee and chair appointments.
