This painting shows my journey of knowledge gathering throughout my life.

The left of the painting represents the beginning of my life as a young person or pup who doesn’t know much, the middle section represents my future where I am as an adult and know more about my ancestors, culture and identity.

At the righthand side of the painting, it represents the knowledge of my own family and preservation of my heritage and culture.

The hills colours represent the darkness I was in about my culture. The sunset is the new dawn, which is the beginning of my full enlightenment.

This is a collaborative painting started by Robert and completed by Sharlisha, it shows our brothers.

The circular symbols represent the brothers and where they live in different places and the connecting lines indicate when my family meet together and have a BBQ.

We achieved contrast by using warm earthy colours against a cool purple background. We used small white dots to bring a focus to the circular symbols that represent our family.

This painting is about my connection with family and how we go up and down to Ceduna to see family.

We go fishing at Ceduna town jetty, the jetty is shown by the brown stripes on the outside of my painting and the white dots on the brown stripes represent the barnacles that are on the jetty pylons.

The blue colour represents the water of Murat Bay and the light blue is closer to the shore. As the water goes out it gets darker and darker going into the sea.

The green dots around the blue represent seaweed.

Natural colours were chosen to represent the amazing view of the dam from my house and the sun setting beside it near the fresh lush grass.

I chose these colours because they are opposite on the colour wheel making them stand out.

I put white dots around the shapes to symbolise the light reflecting off the water. The blue turquoise shapes represent the sun’s beam hitting the dam.
