Opportunities

The American Board of Audiology (ABA) is a committee within the American Academy of Audiology with the purpose of conducting professional certification programs in the field of audiology. The ABA has oversight of credential verification activities resulting in awarding ABA Certified (ABAC) and examinations for the Pediatric Audiology Specialty Certification (PASC) and the new Vestibular Audiology Specialty Certification (VASC) programs. Governance and decision making with respect to such certification programs are the responsibility of the ABA and they shall have complete authority over all essential certification decisions including criteria for certification and re-certification, verification of candidacy and awarding of certification, and defining of continuing competence.

Academy members in good standing who are American Board of Audiology Certified, or hold a Specialty Certification (Cochlear Implants or Pediatric Audiology) as of March 1, 2024, are encouraged to apply.

The timeline for the nominations process is as follows:

Jun 1 - Application Deadline

Jun 2 - ABA Nominations Committee begins to review application and may contact you with additional questions.

Jun 16 - ABA board meets to approve new candidates for ratification by the Academy BOD in July.

Aug 1 - Notifications to all applicants will begin in early August.
