IMBA Europe is the umbrella organisation for mountain bike advocacy groups across 23 European countries. We work to make Europe a more mountain bike–friendly place by improving trail access, promoting sustainable riding, and supporting thriving, inclusive local communities.
It’s been ten years since our last Europe-wide survey, and mountain biking has evolved a lot during that time. Our bikes have changed and with them our trails. Mountain biking is attracting a growing, more diverse community. Your input will help us understand these changes and guide our advocacy for environmentally, socially, and economically sustainable mountain biking.
Our focus is on accessible and sustainable trails close to home — creating everyday riding opportunities that support healthy lifestyles, local economies, and green spaces for all. Through research, collaboration, and policy engagement, we help communities plan, build, and maintain quality trail systems that benefit everyone.
The outcomes of this survey will help us to better serve European mountain bikers by providing greater understanding of your needs, your motivation, your attitudes towards trail access, trail development and volunteering.
No information provided here will be sold or used for commercial reasons. The facts and figures gathered by this survey will help us to argue the importance for facilitating and investing in mountain biking.
